Cosplay Caption Contest

While the primary focus of this site has always been exposing the dangers of bad fanfiction, the horrifying truth is that fanfiction is only one of several spectrums of evil that comprise the rainbow of never-ending terror known as the anime fandom. Another instrument of pain often employed by overzealous anime fans is cosplay. For the uninformed, cosplay (which is a combination of the words "costume" and "face rape") is the name given to the dark ritual wherein ugly people dress themselves in bizarre garments so that they vaguely resemble their favorite characters from anime and other forms of entertainment, then go out in public so that others can look upon their twisted fashion faux pas and learn what it truly means to be afraid. Neither science nor religion have yet to offer an explanation as to why people do this.

To help me alert the masses about the threat of idiots dressing up as Japanese cartoon characters, I turned to the loyal members of the Project AFTER Forums in an interactive feature called the Cosplay Caption Contest. This ingenious system would involve me posting images from my private collection of the worst cosplay ever photographed, then letting the wonderfully sick minds of my fellow forum-goers think up witty captions for said images, the most hilarious of which would win the greatest prize anyone can receive: my respect.

As it turned out, folks ended up submitting such a satisfying selection of sarcastic slurs that I decided to feature their best entries here on the site. Below, you'll find compilations of past winning captions—along with several honorable mentions—categorized into sets of eight contests each. Enjoy!
